I don’t know how it happened, but one day I was a kid who loved nothing more than slipping out of the house to join my buddies at the skate park. We rocked the rails for hours, practicing our signature moves, showing more bravado than common sense, and we often had the skinned knees and broken bones to prove it. Those summer days and nights were some of the best. Then, just like that, I looked around and they were gone. Life moves on, people change. All of a sudden, that skateboard wass discarded for some real power, and before you know it, I was on a motorcycle. That happened to me and buddies of mine as we got older. Now, we’re middle aged boys with big toys on our way to Sturgis to search for parts for bikes we plan to restore.
One thing has remained constant and that is our love for clothing and apparel from PacSun. We loved it at first because it had that cool, bad boy vibe with that Cali swag. Now that we’re older, we can still wear their latest gear and feel as comfortable in it as when we were young guns. The quality and fit is the same, and the price can’t be beat, except when you apply a money saving Groupon. Then you can shave as much as 50% off sale items like shoes and sneakers. That’s really cool. Plus they have a summer clearance sale on now with deals for 70% off select merchandise. That means more to spend at Sturgis which is the biggest motorcycle rally in the country. A mad, rad, 10-day bike festival when over 420,000 die hard biker heads get together in Sturgis, South Dakota to talk shop, swap stories and dive deep into motorcycle culture.
If restoration is your thing, Sturgis is where you are most likely to find the chassis, fenders, motors, or other obscure parts you need to complete your project. I even take my son so he can learn about the vintage bikes that are out on display. It might be a hobby he takes up one day. But for now, just like his dad, he’s in his PacSun gear doing his thing on his skateboard, and dreaming of bigger things to come.
